Isabel is a restaurant in Mayfair aimed at catering for a very wide range of clientele, events and functions and as such the lighting had to be able to keep up with ever changing environments. This meant giving the user the ability to change every aspect of the lighting in a smooth and practical manor, allowing for slow change pre-sets, effects and the ability to hand over control to an event specialist.
The system has been split between Dali, for maximum flexibility over circuits and zones, and DMX for effects and mood setting. The Dali controlled fittings allow for pre-sets to change very slowly for a smooth transition between scenes and individual control within an area to suit the current atmosphere.
The DMX lighting allows for additional mood setting and more eye catching effects to roll or spiral across the 290 individually controlled LED pendants. When specialists attend site for an event they are able to take direct control of the DMX for staging and music effects.
The possibilities are quite literally endless with these Crestron controlled lights. Each light can be individually controlled, or more impressively, be combined to create nearly any effect you can think of, from pulsating in time to the music, to creating the impression of sunrise over a long period of time. The system will change scenes based on time of day and the control app presents the user with an easy-to-use interface.
Crestron was chosen to be the staple control system for this luxury restaurant. It is responsible for the control of the audio systems and lighting control all through dedicated control devices such as touchscreens and lighting keypads. The project had to be delivered to a tight timescale so that on the opening night everyone was blown away with the incredible lighting design.
